The Austrian Center for Medical Innovation and Technology, in short ACMIT, commenced operations as a Comet K1 competence center in April 2010 and is active in fundamental and application-oriented research in the field of medical technology. As a K1 center, the consortium will involve more than 40 national and international partners from science and industry in the planning and carrying out of its collaborative research projects.

ADRASTEC develops customer/OEM products for the high-quality measurement of pressure and temperature, rheology, flow manipulation and forming for inline applications in extrusion/injection molding of plastics and PIM (power injection molding). It is also extremely active in interdisciplinary research projects. The embedded computing systems (both hardware and software) required for such activities, e.g. valid data logging, local and central data logging, and communication are in preparation.
