Vision & Mission & Guiding Principles
The key players at the Technopol have defined their shared vision, mission and guiding principles.
Vision
By the year 2013, the Technopol Wiener Neustadt will have developed into a center of technological expertise of international caliber. This will be made possible by coordinating the individual efforts taking place in the three main areas of high-tech industry, academic training and education, and research. Each of the three areas will be characterized by strong ties to international and industrial networks, yet the highest priority will be given to the interconnectedness of these three areas on site. The Technopol will employ 600 scientists, with around 80 dedicated to each of the five main modern industrial technology fields. The symbiosis of education, training and research will offer the ideal environment for students and researchers alike.
Mission
In order to achieve the shared objectives as outlined in the vision above, five technology areas are to be continually developed and expanded upon:
- Materials
- Medical technology
- Surfaces
- Tribology
- Sensory technology and actuators
Existing cooperation among research institutions in Wiener Neustadt and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt is to be intensified and new collaborative projects are to be developed. Technological development is the main focus for most of those active at the Technopol.
For its part, the province of Lower Austria will support these efforts by way of project-oriented funding and a wide variety of support services.
